Tiger of the Golf roared lowest score in Greensboro

Tiger Woods saw some of the lowest points in his career this season at Greensboro; his lowest round in the last two years. Woods is playing in the Windham Championship for the first time and he needs to win this one to make his way through the post-season matches.

A 6-under 64 score left him only two shots behind the first round leaders at the championship. Greeted like a rockstar by his fans for his first time appearance, Woods showed no signs of disappointment. He made seven birdies and one bogey in his first round, making it obvious that he is still a marquee player.

He also announced a surprising change to his schedule only last week. Woods said it started off at an electric pace and the people were very nice and supportive; a 10 footer which saved him in the finals. This 14 times FedEx Cup winner needs a victory or at least score a second place position in order to qualify for the high-profile four-event play-off series starting next week in New Jersey at The Barclays. He stood at 187th position this week with 125 places available.

This score was also the lowest score for Woods in an opening round in past three years, including the opening day of the 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship. Woods told reporters that he felt good about his performance. He hit a lot of good iron shots and made some putts. He finally got something out of his round by turning two to four-under-par into a six!

This was Woods’ first round of the Wyndham Championship. He has the next second round with the Hideki Matsuyama and Brooks Koepka.
